Neel Briggs’ first job was working for his father logging. He spent countless hours in the woods and around lumber. After graduating from Oregon State University and moving to Seattle in 1998, Neel began working in the snowboard manufacturing industry. Realizing that he missed working with wood, Neel took an apprenticeship with a fine woodworker in Portland. He began using wenge, curly maple, cherry and other fine woods daily.
A few years later, Neel moved to Boston to work on renovating old “brown stones” town/row homes. He had the opportunity to work on some unique historical projects. To vary his experience, Neel returned to Portland and took a position in Research and Development for a large furniture manufacturer and then years later worked for a craftsman style cabinet and remodeling business.
Neel has found that building cabinets with the detail of furniture sets him apart from others. He realizes that the detail furniture and cabinets require must be coupled with timeliness. Neel strives to build fine cabinets and furniture that last forever.
